Though I like fishing in FFXIV, I don’t usually fish everyday. But recently, I’ve been bothered and irritated easily, so I want some peace for myself. It resulted in me going to Bald Knoll to fish all day everyday. One of the reasons is that the area has grade 5 fishing, so it gives decent EXP even to me (Fisher level 41, which has now turned 42).

Before that, I’ve also started working on Fishing Achievements, so I went to fish at Black Brush, then at Drybone.

My recent screenshots are full of fishing pics XD

Anyway, while I was gone from home to the beach with parents, I set my retainer to sell all the Navigator Ears and Young Indigo Herrings I got from my fishing sessions, they all sold, along with some other items I can’t even recall. ><;; So when I got home I found 1.3 million gil in my retainers LOL! The earnings just from fish were like 750k.

Quest: WHM4 (The Wheel of Disaster)
Status: Successful

– Rowland of the 99 Blades
– Bandit Archer
– Bandit Butcher
– Bandit Lancer
– Bandit Grappler

Due to our lack of information, we did this quest twice, once for each of us. Because we kept one of us as WHM, and the other as tank job, instead of going in both as WHM then change jon inside the instance. We tried and died, Corn HP’ed and came back to rescue my dead body. Then he came up with a working strategy and we tried it. I actually was tempted to ask my bro for a help, but I also wanted to do it on our own. Plus, Corn seemed eager to duo these bastard. I felt pumped up by his confidence and wanted to win it with my own hands.

So we went MNK+WHM first. It didn’t go quite well and we had to exit. I couldn’t keep hate at all and the boss bandit wouldn’t die. Then we changed the order of killing, keeping the boss last since he needs full attention from me and Corn. We picked on the Archer first, then whoever that was awake from Corn’s Repose. It was tough and rough because they hit so hard and whenever they woke up, they ran straight to Corn. Moreover, they started to build up resistance to sleep (Repose) after a while. So when all mobs woke up and resisted, shit hit the fan a little bit. Enmity flew everywhere. Oh well, not everywhere, but towards Corn LOL.

I died once, Corn had to Chainspell (er…I mean Presence of Mind) Raise. But then all mobs were on him. I think we had 3 mobs left, including boss, when I died. So all 3 were chasing him. I had to run around trying to punch someone’s ass. Even Taunt couldn’t pull them to me, they just kept chasing Corn. He had to (epicly) kite around in circle, trying not to hit and lose his last bit of HP. I think I finally got them using Fists of Wind to run faster and Shoulder Tackle. Then we killed them one by one with a lot of running.

I’m quite angry at myself for not taking more screenshots, especially while Corn was being chased by multiple enemies! Hahaha. It was a great sight to see, scary but also fun.

The hard part of this round was to get enmity back after dying and being raised. Then, to grab the enemies from Corn’s back, because they just wouldn’t leave him alone. When I finally caught the boss after killing the other 2 underlings, we were back on a good pace again.

Finally, we won. All thanks to Corn’s epic kiting skill, which gave me plenty of time to kill them off one by one without getting swarmed. He also threw some Cure/Regen on me while kiting LOL. Talk about multi-tasking! By the way, the boss was a beast. He hit me for about 300-500 HP. How the hell would I survive without Corn? LOL!

Next battle went MUCH smoother. Corn used PLD, and I WHM. He grabbed all mobs, then I repose them one by one and he picked them off once by one. With far better enmity control, I could just stand there chilling and curing. It was so easy. When they started to resist my Repose, we could just leave them on Corn for a bit before reposing again. I got into the habit of recasting Repose even after Corn told me he could tank 2-3 mobs just fine. Well, dude, can’t blame me, I was scared! 😛

Corn’s HP dipped down to scary zone once in a while because I suck as a healer XD but he got everything under control. He was constantly complaining about his whiffs and misses, but he killed them fast enough. We won without casualty this round, and plenty of time to spare (unlike the GDI WHM final boss, where we had 1 minute left when we won, hahaha!).

I was trembling with excitement while we watched the cutscene. The storyline was also epic and added to the thrill. It was an awesome fight and awesome story.

After that, we went and continued my BRD quests to catch up with Corn. Then we went to Treespeak for the next challenge. Read about it in next entry: Doing it the Bard Way.

Recently I’ve been joining with my brother’s Ifrit party on weekends. And sometimes if they really really need one more body, I would also go and help to fill in the spot even when it’s weekdays.

Ifrit battle is exciting. On my first Ifrit battle, I once again felt like I was on crack (LOL! like back when I was competing for NM claims in FFXI, yeah, that kind of feeling) and got so psyched up. My fingers were icy cold until 10 mins after we won LOL! My bro had a good laugh about it when I poked him with my freezing fingers when I bumped into him outside of my room.

Anyway, yesterday we wiped. One of the rare “shit-hits-the-fan” Ifrit runs. We don’t always win. But on first day and second day, we were so perfect and Ifrit behaved very well, so we won with a clean record of 8/8 and 8/8 on both days. That kind of spoiled me and Honey Muffin. We were so pumped up with the great amount of lucky wins.

Have to admit it was funny and quite entertaining to wipe and lose though!

I would love to write more, but life has been busy, as well as the game. So here’s just short update in my blog XD LOL. Cheating, I know. But I’ll write about Ifrit with details soon.

On a side note, a few days ago Honey Muffin was psyched up and pumped up and proposed that we go kill some Uraeus. My bro said it pops only at night time in the game, and gathered more people to help. We ended up getting a full party (thanks guys from Round Table LS that came to help) and claimed 4 Uraeus, getting 3/4 skin drops.

So my bro made us 3 Silver Tricornes.

I couldn’t get him to come take a pic with use because he wasn’t home XD But here’s 2 pics of me and my HM.

Bro also made us a set of gear for PGL. 🙂

I haven’t updated my PGL gear for a very longgggggggggg time, because I was already done leveling up my Pugilist long before the gear update patch. So I was so happy to get all new shiny equipment set. And to top it off, the Pirate Captain Hat of my dream is now mine!

Hah!! Hah!!!! Hahhhhhh!

So yesterday I went out to a shopping mall with bro for a coffee and a dinner with friends. After splitting to go home, we had 4 people left in bro’s car, including me and him. All 4 of used used to play FFXI before, and 1 wants to play FFXIV, while the rest are already playing (or have played, since we all took a long break LOL.)

We talked A LOT about FFXI and I really really miss my Mithra XD

But eventually the topic drifted to FFXIV, and man, I REALLY wanted to play. Civa said to Leo (who’s the only one that hasn’t gotten FFXIV yet, due to real life time issues) that if he has enough time to start playing, make sure to call him up so we all can hop onto the server at the same time. My bro chimed in and was like “OK What about tonight!?”

LOL. I thought he was kidding….dude….But no!!!

I came home and talked to my Honey Muffin and we played SCII a little. Then my bro came knocking on my door saying “OMG FFXIV has thin population, come see for yourself.” Then he went on to read and ask about new updates, some of which I could not answer because it was new since I took a long break after the earthquake & tsunami. So I mentioned that and HM was willing to stop playing SCII for the night and download FFXIV patch to join my bro.

After a long waiting time….We finally got onto the server. And boy, it’s sooooo reminiscing. I felt in my elements there on FFXIV. So happy to be Pugilist (but wait, when I hopped on, first thing I actually DID was Cooking! Hahaha!) Then we went to do just some Local Levequests at Horizon while gathering for Regional Battlecraft LQs. Cornie introduced the LQ abandon trick for EXP to him and we had a big blast 🙂 I hope bro’s Archer gets to 22 soon so we can move on to LQ30 for him.

Anyway, at one point we made a trip to Mun-Tuy Cellar for our LQ, and we ran into an angry Imp.

I promptly slammed my fists on his face (or maybe ass? IDK) once Corn claimed it (heck, I was making a U-turn to run away when I saw it! Hahaha scaredy cat!) but its HP hardly took any dip! But meh, we set Home Point in here, so there’s nothing to lose anyway. So I kept fighting while Corn spammed Cure and buff and debuff, then he had to change skills and spells to accommodate the situation. The fight went smoothly with some scary moments, like when the damn imp tried to toast me with the Magma Eruca’s move, Incinerate or something. I hate it! When we fought Imps in LQs, that move was the top of the list of what kills me.

One of its annoying move was Paralysis. I got paralyzed a lot, but at least when I tried to use skills and got para’ed, I didn’t lose the cooldown timer. 🙂 So yeah that was no biggie.

The fight seemed sooooo long for me. But according to my PC’s time stamp on the file, it only took 8 minutes or so LOL! I guess it’s because I had to execute every battle command (meaning, each of the punches) manually, so it felt like I was doing a damn lot, comparing to the actual actions and time.

Anyway, it dropped a few shards and a pair of Toadskin something shoes. Corn looked it up and said it dropped a 2-handed Conjurer’s arm, but it’s not better than the one he had. So we didn’t try to camp this Impy guy again but went on to get EXP for Kara.
