On Day 28, she became ill. Zopago said she’s a bit under the weather and that I should feed her some Tokopekko Grass.

I then took her to a short walk.

Feeding 2 carrots and a medicinal grass, but no Azouph made her affection towards me to drop a little the next day. So it meant she had been at the boundary line between “regards you as parent” and “wants to be with you all the time” all along, LOL.

On Day 29, however….

On Day 29!!!!

My ArashiZetsuei got well and finally became an adult Chocobo. And yes, she’s red, as we could see from her tips since adolescent.

But…. Would anyone laugh at me if I say she looks a bit scary?  T.T

Adult Chocobo doesn’t look as cute as a chick or a teenage one, I must say. And her being red….plus the big scary beaks made her look a little stern-faced.

I hope I’ll get used to her appearance and see her as a cutie again soon.

“Best” the competitor also became adult chocobo.

And oh….today is the day I’ve been waiting for for so long! I now can activate the quest to obtain Chocobo Whistle!

But boy…. to be successful in sneaking a search behind my chocobo was painful. She always caught me and so I failed in retrieving the item. T.T Damn stink handkerchief.

Oh, I managed to bring affection level back to parent level, too.

Well… a week later, my lil chick has changed from this

I took her…. um oh yes, my Chocobo is actually a girl. The message “your chocobo seems to be male” was caused by the bug, so after the patch update which resolved this problem, my chick turned out to be female…. I took her to the first Regular Walk in Konschtat Highlands and met the trio gang that was raising “Best.”

Here they came. Looks all cocky and talking big, lol.

Well, I don’t hate him. Though he has the same face as Lusian but got opposite personality hahaha!!!

I continued taking care of ArashiZetsuei on mental-stat plan. Changing from “Listen to music” to “Exhibit to public.” But Day 20’s plan was already assigned the day before, so it was still music.

Today my chocobo was bored and restless.

Had to compete to cure this.

The next day ArashiZetsuei became normal again. And the plan was correctly changed to Exhibition.

This was also the first day I tried Kamp Kweh! I asked Brunestud, my brother, to come join me.

I got STR up! LOL!

The next day I tried again with ChocolatCiel, and ArashiZ “became more patient.” ChocolatCiel didn’t get any bonus stat, but it became more patient and changed from hot temper (or something like that) to “Very Patient.”

And when I went for a regular walk again, we met Hantileon and Air.

They made friends!

By the way, since Day 14, I’ve been feeding ArashiZ with 2 Zegham Carrots and 1 Azouph Green. On day 24 she had Average Discernment and Average Receptivity.

I’m very much looking forward to the day my ArashiZetsuei become adult chocobo!

A week passed…

During the week I took care of my Chocobo Chick quite randomly. Well, it has only 2 options I could use anyway, Watching over, and Taking for a short walk.

During a walk, I got the quest “Lost Chick.”

It really looked lost, you know…. That black, confused expression. It was so funny!

Yeah and we had to bring it back to Zopago.

Then, on the 6th day of my chocobo, I picked the wrong Care Plan because my own confusion. So ArashiZetsuei rested all day…. Couldn’t walk, watct, or or feed.

The next day was 7th day, which is when people would get “Crying at night” scene from their chick.

LOL, Zopago put it very funny…. “crying loud enough to wake the dead.” OMG Is my chick a big barking dog or something? >w<)/

Anyway, obtained the hankerchief and proceeded along the storyline.

Then more walks….

Met Zopago and Blood. Then they befriended. Very cute motions!!

On Day 9, still walking. No I didn’t mean to do the Costume Playing while walking my chocobo… Maybe I was leveling up a low level in front of town, so I was in that outfit, hehe.

At this point I was still feeding my chick with Carrot Paste. So…the mental stats developed quite slowly.

And walking it everyday, regardless of what job I was, and what gears I was wearing. LOL

Or even whem I was naked >.>

Well, I was in a hurry to take care of my chick I didn’t even bother to dress up after changing job.

And why did I have to run into Zopago while walking naked!??? GRRRR! Damn!

Not like he care anyway LOL.

Gah!

What an inconvenience!

I traded my Chocobo Egg at about 3 P.M. in the afternoon my time, so the chocobo day report starts in the afternoon. So, in my chocobo raising record on earlier days, I was writing confusingly about date and day, etc.

So, the date 17th of December 2008 was both Day 4 (when I woke up) and Day 5 (in the evening.)

Anyway, later on I decided to avoid the confusion by checking my Chocobo only after the Day Report.

As an Egg, I kept spamming check on it, for like 150 times total during 4 days.

Tadaa!!!!

LOL Why did it sit like that??

Oh yeah, I named it ArashiZetsuei.

Zopago said it seems to be a male, so I had talked to Leonidus and said “If my chocobo grows up nicely, I’ll come to ask for your daughter’s card and send them on a honeymoon.”

I intended to take super-care in raising my Arashi… because I heard that Leo refused Kanna when he asked for his beloved daughter to honeymoon with Kanna’s male chocobo. LOL It was funny!!!

Got Day 5 report in the evening.

After finishing the quest and waiting a while, Brutus rewarded me with an Egg.

Of course I headed back to Bastok and traded it to Zopago.

I am now a proud owner of a Chocobo (have yet to be born)!

We will see what is ahead…

Today can’t select Care Plan yet, and cannot do anything but Watch Over the Egg.

So I was like spamming check…. for about 45 times. LOL!!

After years of hesitation…. I finally decided to quit being lazy and set out to obtain my own Chocobo. For a long time, since the new update that allowed players to raise their own Chocobo, I’ve been drooling to have one. But reading several websites, webboard topics, and listening from a few friends made me unsure if I actually could afford to raise one.

First off, it requires daily attention. I didn’t think I had enough time for that, not to mention that I’m a forgetful person. Next, there was no easy-to-read guide for me to follow. I’ve always been the kind of person who’re reluctant to try new things unless it turns a bit old…. And I was afraid to make mistakes that could ruin my Chocobo Raising. Finally, the remedies for each of the chocobo’s illness went sky-rocket in price on Auction House everywhere. I was cheap and was so sure I couldn’t afford a chocobo medicine that costs like 10-20k gil everyday.

But after several months of drooling on occasion, as well as more information that stacks up from reading many sources, I decided that now I could afford a Chocobo, in the sense of budget and time.

Thanks to Lusian, who was like the first person who tempted me to raise a Chocobo. Though I had discussed this matter with my boyfriend long before Lusi talked about it and had dismissed the idea of raising one because it looked like too much of a hassle, it was Lusi who posted the Raising Guide (though not reader-friendly one) in our LS board to kept me drooling.

Thanks to Kimji, who had tried to raise a chocobo, and emphasized its cuteness by posting stuff in her topic. As well ass offering to cook cheap Chocobo Feed for us all. She made me realized that raising a chocobo might not cost too much after all. She also posted another Raising Guide in LS board.

Thanks to Leonidus, who had raised a chocobo and had talked about it as well as about theories and practices in Chocobo Raising. He had given me a lot of trivial information that became very useful later on. He also helped encouraging me in getting my own Chocobo Baby. I could say he was the biggest drive that made me actually started raising a Chocobo.

Thanks to Brunestud, who had made me realized how much I wanted to raise a Chocobo. He whined with me, he got bullied (by Leonidus and his Chocobo daughter) with me, and he drooled with me. We finally started to raise a Chocobo, though he started later then me.

Here comes the chocobo quest….

Poor Brutus was busy when I released one of his Chocobos.

So…the Chocobo ran out to La Thiene Plateau.

I went after it and found the 2 chocobos….

Brutus said… Thank you for bringing the Chocobo back!!

Duh….I was the one who caused you all these troubles in the first place, silly you, Brutus.

The Chocobo that came back behaved badly and had bad influence on all other Chocobos, so, to solve this problem, we set out to San d’Oria. The Taru from Windurst and Zopago from Bastok also came. There were absolutely unfriendly to me.

Brutus was very trusting…. He really hoped I could help solving the problem, and he picked my side when the committee were shoo’ing me. LOL!

The solution we came up with at the end was to let the Chocobos meet in Jeuno….

The Chocobos realized the truth and became sad. It was a very touching moment, but I must admit I couldn’t help laughing. Bahhh poor things, but…hey it’s not a big deal, birds!

Anyway, mystery solved.

Hantileon summonned the committe again and announced his decision.

Adventurers (namely me) are now allowed to raise a chocobo.
